This Cathedral, built in 1131 by the Norman King Roger II, is at the very heart of the city. They say all roads lead to the twin towers of the Duomo. I believe that is true as there was one evening, during our meandering through the narrow streets, Jim and I were definitely misplaced until we caught a view of the church towers. There is a twin tower on the opposite side of this one shown. The town square is not very large…to photograph both towers together without leaving the city is a remarkable feat, and one that I did not accomplish.
