An Unwelcome Visitor
Sax-Zim Bog, MN, U.S. - February 28, 2021: A male Pine Grosbeak makes an appearance at the feeder much to the annoyance of a female Evening Grosbeak who appears very displeased. At this feeder we see the red male Pine Grosbeak, the lighter colored female Evening Grosbeaks, and the darker male Evening Grosbeak on the right. At the Visitor Center in the Sax-Zim Bog area.
Common Redpoll
Sax-Zim Bog, MN, U.S. - February 28, 2021: A female Common Redpoll visits the feeder at Warren Nelson Memorial Bog boardwalk in the Sax-Zim Bog area. These little birds migrate from their Arctic tundra breeding grounds for the winter and are happiest in or near the Boreal forests of Canada. Known for their red markings on their heads, they are small songbirds in the Finch family.
