Summer Hummer
It was summer in my garden in Franktown, CO when I heard the whistle of hummingbird wings. The early morning sun rays provided beautiful shards of light, illuminating the flowers as the hummingbirds flitted and danced around, challenging each other for the best breakfast buds. I believe this is a female Ruby throated hummingbird testing my patience and teasing my Nikon D750 camera and 70-200mm lens. Many times I've attempted to photograph these feisty, energetic creatures, but never before had photo of which I was proud to share. My goal that morning was to capture an image portraying the bird in a natural habitat instead of on or near a feeder, and I believe I succeeded in my venture.
