Patient fisherman
Our photography tour with Aaron Baggenstos of Aaron's Photo Tours, began in Seattle yesterday, Tuesday July 19, 2016 with everyone arriving at the Sheraton 4 Points ( a very nice hotel near the airport) and attending a meet and greet with our guide. 2 other couples completed our little group...Lin McAllister and Roger Lancaster along with Dorothy Murray and John Greco.
The next morning we traveled by van about 2 hours to Anacortes to board the ferry which then took us to Friday Harbor.
While we waited for the ferry, Aaron took us on a nature walk down by the water where I photographed this Blue Heron. I waited patiently for the opportune moment to click the shutter while he even more patiently waited for his dinner.
Is this little guy for real??
While we were walking along the water's edge, we were alerted by a woman walking her dog that there was a seal pup nearby and not to be alarmed...that the baby was ok. So I learned something new in nature...that mama seals frequently leave their young pups alone on the beach while they hunt for food. The pups are safer alone on the beach than in the water where they would be vulnerable to more predators.

Zooming in with my telephoto lens, one can see that this baby appears fat and healthy from his mother's milk. Resting with eyes closed, I noticed no distress in the animal.
Here again is our patient fisherman.
This guy can't seem to decide where and when to eat his dinner. A few minutes earlier, he flew in close to the water's edge with his treasure...unfortunately, I wasn't on the ready with my camera to catch him in flight.

I have no idea who this couple is, but I love capturing people involved with happiness and enjoying life. Using my long lens and capturing candid moments is one of my passions....so beware friends!
