These guys make the best panini in town! We were regulars for a few days, and became quite friendly with them. The man on the right in blue is the store owner.
While walking we happened upon this contemporary restaurant in an unlikely alley of Palermo and thought it was quite unusual. Unfortunately, it wasn't open. :(

The atmosphere is charged with vibrancy and people having fun. Sicily was still in the throes of economic downturn with high unemployment at the time of our trip. I'm thinking they are escaping grim reality for a little while in the evening.
Dining out first class with the locals….plastic chairs, plastic tablecloths and paper towels. We are feeling right at home, like dinner on the deck. :)
